One out of the two persons who abetted Sefakor Ayeke, the 25-year-old Banking and Finance polytechnic student who allegedly lured two minors to suck the manhoods of male adults while she videoed the act for her supposed white boyfriend abroad, was yesterday handed a three-year jail term by an Accra Circuit Court.
The convict, Ebenezer Aseidu, 22, a car sprayer and two others—Isaac Kofi Parku Dodzie, 18, student and Sefakor Ayeke— were charged with the offences of conspiracy to commit crime and subjecting a child to inhuman and degrading treatment.
Sefakor, Asiedu and Dodzie are facing additional charges of abetment of crime and indecent assault respectively.
The police have also intensified the search for the fourth accused person, one Mustapha, who is currently on the run.
Sefakor is said to have in September this year made two minors aged 8 and 10 to touch and suck the manhoods of Aseidu and Dodzie at North Legon, a suburb of Accra.
In the early stages of the trial, Asiedu admitted the offence and was subsequently sentenced yesterday even though the judge, who had earlier hinted of sentencing Asiedu on October 22, could not do so.
At the hearing of the case, a medical report produced in court stated that there hadn't been any hymen contact and that the children are okay.
The court presided over by Mrs Rita Agyemang Budu jailed Asiedu for three years and granted bail to Sefakor and Dodzie in the sum of GH₵20,000 each with three sureties, one to be justified.
The other two sureties, according to the trial judge, must be senior public servants.
Sefakor and Dodzie have pleaded not guilty to the offence.
Facts
Prosecuting ASP Sarah Acquah told the court that the complainant, John Tsimesi, is a businessman and a father to one of the minors in the case, while the second victim, aged 10, is a Junior High School pupil and a cousin of the first victim, both living in the same house.
She said all four suspects are friends who live in the same neighbourhood at Madina Washington and that in September, during the long vacation holidays, the first victim came to spend some holidays with her cousin, the second victim.
The prosecutor stated that one day while victims were home with their grandmother, Sefakor sought permission to take them to a nearby cafe to play games and lured them to Mustapha's house where she conspired with him to make the children suck his manhood in turns after she (Sefakor) had demonstrated the process to the children.
ASP Acquah said Sefakor warned the minors not to tell anybody else they would die the next day, adding that she again lured the children to a guest house where she had again conspired with Mustapha, who was this time joined by Asiedu and Dodzie, to carry out the act.
She stated that the first victim was made to suck the manhood of Dodzie while the second sucked that of Asiedu—an act which is inhumane and degrading to the victims.
The police officer further disclosed that after the act Sefakor bought the minors ice cream and pleaded with them not to disclose it to anybody.
ASP Acquah indicated that during the act Sefakor videoed it and purportedly sent it to an accomplice in the USA for a fee.
However, luck eluded her when the first victim told her parents her ordeal when she returned to Tema. The suspects were arrested after a compliant had been lodged.
