Mr William Awuku Ahiadomey, Managing Director of Agricare Limited, producers of feeds and concentrates, has called on poultry farmers to form stronger ties and associations to influence government policy.
He said this would enable policy makers to pay attention to the needs of the poultry and livestock sector.
Mr Ahiadormey, who was speaking to the Ghana News Agency, said to achieve this, the farmers would have to forge a united front to advocate for their needs.
It was also important that the farmers and feed millers sought audience with President Atta Mills to discuss the future of the livestock and poultry industry.
This, he said, had become even more urgent given the present high production cost.
Mr Ahiadormey said everything should be done to keep the farmers in business and prevent the industry from collapsing.Source: GNA
