The leadership of the People’s Progressive Party (PPP) has expressed gratitude and thanks to members and sympathizers of the party across the 230 constituencies for their overwhelming support during its recent nationwide membership drive, inauguration and swearing-in of the party’s interim executives.
The PPP recently embarked on a six-day nationwide membership drive which received massive support from sympathisers across the country.
The membership drive took the party to all ten regional capitals in the country and held the final event in Accra on Wednesday.
The grassroots organisation of the PPP saw the party electing regional and constituency executives to run the affairs of the party in the regions and the constituencies in an interim capacity.
In all about 200 regional executives were elected while 4,600 were sworn-in by the leadership of the PPP to steer the party’s affairs in all the ten regions, it also saw 1899 CPP constituency and regional executives joining the PPP.
“We commend all our interim regional and constituency executives who showed a lot of commitment and dedication in our quest to build a formidable political party as credible alternative to the NDC and the NPP,” said a statement released Friday.
“We are extremely excited at the level of interest and enthusiasm expressed by the electorate to be part of the new political party.
We assure the constituency and regional executives of the provision of materials, offices, vehicles, motor bikes and other necessary logistics that will help the party run a vigorous campaign for victory in the 2012 elections.
We further want to encourage all our party supporters and new members to go all out and propagate our ‘Operation No Zero Vote’ concept to enable us get more people to vote for the party in the 2012 elections,” the statement said.
