President John Dramani Mahama has commissioned a new ultra-modern digital printing centre at the Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL), marking a major milestone in the company’s transformation and retooling drive.
The commissioning took place during the President’s working visit to the state-owned printer, where he engaged with the Board, Management, and staff on the company’s progress and future direction.

The new facility is expected to significantly boost GPCL’s production capacity, improve turnaround times, and enhance its ability to deliver high-quality, time-sensitive printing services for both government and private sector clients.

Speaking at the event, President Mahama praised the leadership of GPCL for investing in modern technology and repositioning the company to compete more effectively within Ghana’s evolving printing industry.
“This is a clear demonstration of what focused leadership and strategic investment can achieve,” he said, adding that the facility would help restore GPCL’s relevance as a national asset.
The President noted that the digital centre would also strengthen the company’s role in executing key national assignments, including the printing of official state documents, textbooks, learning materials, and other large-scale public sector jobs.

He said the move aligns with government’s broader Reset Agenda, which seeks to revitalise state-owned enterprises, improve productivity, and promote efficiency across public institutions.

The commissioning further underscores GPCL’s positioning as a forward-looking state enterprise capable of supporting the government’s 24-hour economy policy and Ghana’s wider industrialisation goals.
