The ceremony was attended by dignitaries including former President John Agyekum Kufuor, founder of the Progressive People’s Party (PPP) and a former Minister of Public Sector Reforms, Dr Paa Kwesi Nduom, and officials from the Millennium Challenge Corporation.
Joy News’ Cyrus DeGraft Johnson who was at the ceremony said President Mills commended his predecessor former President Kufuor under whose tenure the funding was secured.
He called on all to avoid playing politics with the project – as who started it and who completed it.
President Mills also warned people from encroaching on the yet to be developed land along the highway, adding that offenders would be dealt with.
