President John Evans Atta Mills returned home on Wednesday night after two-day state visit to Cote D’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Togo.
He was met on arrival by Vice President John Dramani Mahama.
Mr Mohammed Mumuni, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Regional Integration and NEPAD briefing journalists on arrival said President Mills held private talks with President Laurent Gbagbo of Cote D’Ivoire, President Blaise Campoare of Burkina Faso and President Faure Gnassingbe of Togo.
He said President Mills expressed appreciation to them for their support during his inauguration and Ghana’s willingness to cooperate with her neighbouring countries.
Mr Mumuni said on bilateral issues, President Mills discussed trade, cooperation, transport, and other issues which affected lives of the people.
On politics, he said President Mills discussed with his counterparts issues affecting Darfur, Guinea-Bissau, the international criminal court warrant for the arrest of Sudanese President al-Bashir, resumption of constitutional rule in Madagascar and political stability in Zimbabwe.
Mr Mumuni said the credit crunch was discussed and optimistic world leaders would institute the necessary measures to prevent collapse of the world economy.Source: GNA
