President John Evans Atta Mills has re-affirmed his government’s commitment to address challenges facing traders in various markets in the country.
According to him traders play a critical role in Ghana’s economy thus the need for government to support their activities.
Addressing market men and women in Accra as part of his unannounced visits to markets to acquaint himself with problems and challenges bedeviling traders, President Mills urged the traders to keep faith and partner government for accelerated development.
The Mayor of Accra Alfred Oko Vanderpuye and the Greater Accra Regional Minister Nii Laryea Afortey Agbo outlined plans by government to decongest the market and give relieve to the traders.
The elated market women commended government for the visit, and assured government of their support at all times.
The president and his team also went to Adenta to inspect some road projects.
