Ghana will be pushing for a win which will keep their qualifying chances for the 2014 FIFA World Cup finals alive when they face Sudan on Friday.
An away win at the Al-Merreikh Stadium in Omdurman would possibly alter the log in Group D for some hours ahead of the other fixture between leaders, Zambia and Lesotho on Saturday.
Black Stars coach Kwesi Appiah has been concentrating on how to plot a win for Ghana and he has a fully fit squad to pick from ahead of Friday's crucial game.
"Football unites everyone in Ghana and that urges us on. We will do our possible best to win all the games ahead of us to reach the World Cup finals," Appiah said on Wednesday before Ghana departed for Sudan.
"We have to go far and will not disappoint the nation."
The Black Stars before their reverse fixture with Sudan - which they won 4-0 - in Kumasi back in March of this year were three points behind the top but will go into Friday's match just one point adrift the leaders.
Asamoah Gyan says he is confident Ghana can overcome the Nile Crocodiles in Omdurman and wants his team mates to seize the moment.
"We have been getting lots of encouragement and support from Ghanaians ahead of key matches like Friday's game against Sudan," Gyan said.
"In football players need inspiration and efforts like this inspires us the players a lot.
"The most important thing for us are the two matches we will play over the next few days. I want to assure Ghanaians that we will get the victory needed."
The Black Stars, chasing a third consecutive appearance at the World Cup finals are just one point adrift Zambia with the side that finishes top, advancing to next round.
