The President of the Institute of Human Resource Management Practitioners, Ghana (IHRMP), Dan Acheampong, has called on HR Practitioners, corporate bodies and the general public to support in organising its proposed conference awards.
Dubbed the Ghana HR Conference and Excellence Awards, it is scheduled to take place on October 4 and 5 this year at the La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, Accra.
Mr. Acheampong made the call when he spoke to the media after the official launch of the awards.
He explained that the conference, which comprises an HR Exhibition and a Forum would precede the excellence awards and asked the public to file nomination at the event’s website, www.hrconferencegh.com or picking the forms from the IHRMP office or the HR Focus office at any of the L’AINE branches.
Mr. Kofy Hagan, Editor of the HR Focus Magazine-also part of the organising team - added that the HR Exhibition would offer a platform where HR departments of various corporate entities and HR organizations would be given the opportunity to showcase some of the processes involved in their human capital management to achieve set organizational goals.
This platform, he noted, will bring together students from tertiary institutions, jobseekers, employees and other individuals who are interested in the HR processes of organizations.
“Alongside the Exhibition, the HR Forum, a platform that seeks to bring HR practitioners and other players in the industry together, to share, learn and deliberate on HR management and its current trends, will take place. This will be strictly by invitation,” Mr. Hagan added.
The 1st Ghana HR Conference and Excellence Awards is under the theme, “Achieving Excellence Through Human Resource Optimization.”
