Minister of state in charge of Public-Private Partnerships, Rashid Pelpuo is assuring businesses of exciting times ahead despite current difficulties.
Businesses and industry over the past weeks have been complaining about the high cost of doing business in the country.
These concerns have been influenced by hikes in fuel prices, irregular supply of power and proposed hikes in taxes.
But Mr. Pelpuo says these measures would in the medium term improve the economy for all.
He assured that the government is injecting competition into the power industry as 10 out of many independent power producers have been licensed to operate.
“Liquified Natural Gas facility coming to Ghana to supply gas and also generate power, and the competition is differently going to force prices down so the target is to make businesses to thrive better…and compete effectively.”
