Consultant working on the relocation of the Suame Magazine industrial hub, Nyaaba-Aweeba Azongo has told Joy Business the project could cost about a hundred million dollars.
The project due to be completed in three years is yet to commence. The artisans have however secured about a thousand acre land at Kodie near Kumasi – just about 10 minutes drive from the current location.
Mr Azongo tells Joy Business, they are seeking to engage both public and private investors for the project which will be known as the SMIDO-Otumfuo Industrial Complex.
“We are getting partnership from Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) who will come in with their expertise to work in concert with the local expertise so that technical [know-how]that would be provided would help us to have a fair idea of the cost.”
Suame Magazine is an artisanal village in Kumasi providing technical and engineering services for the country and some other parts of West Africa
