Three passengers aboard a Metro Mass Transit bus are reported to have sustained injuries after armed robbers attacked them on the Kade-Accra road early Friday.
The robbers, numbering about six, also robbed the passengers of their monies and other valuables at gun point.
One of the passengers told Joy News two of the robbers were dressed in police and military uniforms and ordered the bus to stop.
They shattered the windscreen of the bus and ordered the driver and the conductor to hand over their sales.
They eventually stripped the conductor naked in their attempt to take the money.
The eyewitness intimated that three youngmen were shot at for reluctantly obeying the robbers' instructions to get down from the bus.
They also took away an amount of GH¢600.00 from an old man, while other passengers were each searched and their monies taken away. They were ordered to lie prostrate in a nearby bush.
Two other robbers were stopping and robbing other vehicles passing by.
It is not too clear the total amount stolen by the armed robbers.
The District Police Commander, DSP Yahaya Muniaro confirmed the robbery and said investigations are underway.
He told Joy News his men were quickly despatched to the scene of the robbery after distress calls from the victims, but the robbers bolted before their arrival.
