The Dwantoahemaa of Dormaa Traditional Council in the Brong Ahafo Region, Nana Akosua Frimpomaa II, is set to be unveiled as running mate to the Convention People’s Party flagbearer for the December polls.
The CPP flagbearer, Dr. Abu Sakara Foster, will later today (Thursday, 11th October, 2012), officially unveil her to journalists at the Alisa Hotel, Accra.
Nana Akosua Frimpomaa is also the founder of Caring Kids International, a non-governmental organization.
The Queen, who hails from the Brong Ahafo region and has an Ashanti background, is also said to be the daughter of a diehard CPP member.
The CPP will thus become the second political party after the PPP to have a female running mate in the presidential contest.
The PPP’s Dr. Papa Kwesi Nduom a couple of weeks ago, outdoored Ms Eva Lokko as his running-mate for the December elections.
The NPP and NDC have named Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia and Paa Kwesi Amissah-Arthur respectively, as running mates for the presidential elections.
The PNC is yet to name a running mate but its flagbearer Hassan has stated he will choose a woman as his running mate.
