The Director General of the National Lottery Authority (NLA), Mr Samuel Awuku, has been lauded for his exceptional leadership, which has significantly raised the profile of the Authority on the global stage.
His strategic and result-oriented approach has transformed the NLA from a loss-making entity into a profitable and respected organization within the international lottery community.
This commendation came from the Acting Director of Finance, Dr Martin Amanianpong, during an Editors' Forum organized by the NLA.
Dr Amanianpong highlighted Mr Awuku's dynamic and enthusiastic leadership, describing it as unmatched and instrumental in the Authority’s recent successes.

“Mr Samuel Awuku’s leadership has been a driving force behind the remarkable turnaround of the NLA. His vision and dedication have not only restored the Authority’s financial health but have also positioned it as a key player on the global stage,” Dr Amanianpong stated.
Among the key achievements under Mr Awuku’s tenure is the redirection of the NLA from its previous loss-making status to becoming a profitable entity. This financial turnaround is a testament to his strategic management and the implementation of innovative solutions that have revitalized the Authority’s operations.
Another significant milestone according to Dr Amanianpong, is the attainment of Level 2 Certification in Responsible Gaming, an internationally recognized standard that underscores the NLA’s commitment to ethical practices and social responsibility.
This certification reflects the Authority’s adherence to best practices in the gaming industry, ensuring that its operations are conducted with integrity and a focus on the well-being of the community.
According to Dr Amanianpong under Mr Awuku’s leadership, the NLA has attained observer member status in the European Lottery Association (ELA), a prestigious global body that sets standards and fosters cooperation among lottery organizations worldwide.
This achievement, he said not only enhances the NLA’s credibility on the international stage but also opens doors for further collaboration and growth opportunities.
The NLA, through Dr Amanianpong, expressed its pride in Mr Awuku’s achievements, noting that his inspirational leadership continues to bring great fortunes to the Authority.
The Editors' Forum provided a platform for the NLA to share its successes and plans with the media, reinforcing its commitment to transparency and excellence.
As the NLA continues to build on these successes, Mr Awuku’s leadership remains a beacon of inspiration, not only within the Authority but also across the broader lottery and gaming industry.
His ability to drive results, inspire his team, and reposition the NLA is a testament to his exceptional capabilities as a leader.
The forum concluded with a call for continued support from stakeholders as the NLA strives to achieve even greater heights under Mr Awuku’s stewardship.
