Chairman of the Ghana U20 national team Winfred Osei says they will try and get some of the foreign-based players to join the home-based camping session of the team ahead of the Fifa U-20 World Cup in May.
The Black Satellites opened camp for on Tuesday at the Ghanaman Soccer of Excellence in Prampram.
All local players invited by Sellas Tetteh reported in camp to start their justifier for a place in the final list. The 14 foreign-based players called up to come and justify their position are however yet to report to camp.
Head of the team Winfred Osei in an exclusive interview with Joy Sports noted that they are in talks to have some of the players travel down to join the local component.
”We asked the foreign players to join the squad to give the coach the full scope to be able to select his final team,” he said.
“But no matter what the case be, there is no way that you can get all your players in the camp because of the FIFA rule.
“The players are in competition at their clubs so we will have to make do with what we will get.”
Ghana is preparing to make another onslaught on the World U20 stage where they have been drawn in Group B against Argentina, Austria and Panama.
