Information reaching Joy Business indicates a mini shake-up at the Energy Ministry with Dr. Kwabena Donkor – a deputy Energy Minister – no longer in charge of the petroleum portfolio.
The petroleum portfolio will now be handled by Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah, the other deputy minister at the ministry.
The shift, Joy Business has learnt, is to enable Mr. Buah acquire some expertise in that area and better represent the interests of indigenes being an MP from the area.
The shake-up is, however, believed to be fallouts from shortcomings relating to the Tema Oil Refinery.
Dr. Kwabena Donkor would now be responsible for power generation and distribution with limited responsibilities for policy formulation in the petroleum sector.
