Sheikh Abdul Razah Bawa Aransa has taken over as Imam of Muslim Executive Foundation (MEF) following the brother, Dr Sheikh Osman Orlando's death.
The step is to transform further projects and initiatives that Sheikh Orlando began before his death.
Sheikh Aransa appreciated the entire Muslim community for entrusting him the position and pledging to work in accordance with the teachings of Islam.
He also promised to continue from where late Sheikh Orlando left to ensure the organisation's growth for the betterment of humanity.
He noted, "I thank the members and the Muslim community as a whole for giving me that mandate to serve the Muslim community and humanity in general.
"Anyway, I've taken the baton; I will start from where my teacher, my brother, the founder of the Muslim Executive Organisation has left, and I will continue from there till I also leave for the next generation of leaders."
Sheikh Aransa also refuted assertions that Muslim youth are violent. According to him, they have no tolerance for injustices.
"Muslim youth are not violent, they don't tolerate injustice, and that's their moral principle. So when a leader or someone is trying to treat them unfairly, they won't allow it, and they will rise against it," he added.
Sheikh Aransa indicated that community workshops will be intensified to educate Muslim youth on the need to further their education or acquire relevant skills to better their lives.
He urged the youth to take Islamic religion seriously and seek more expertise in their respective fields to improve their living conditions.
Dr Sheikh Osman Bawa Hafiz Aransah, aka Orlando, died in his private residence at Old Tafo in Kumasi on Thursday, October 7, 2021.
Dr Sheikh Olando served as the Chief Executive Officer and Imam of the Muslim Executive Foundation and Secretary to Supreme Council for Islamic Teachings and Research.
He died aged 63 years and is survived by three sons and three daughters.
