Industrialization, private sector reform and education rank top on the list of strategies in the New Patriotic Party’s manifesto for election 2012 with Education being the bedrock.
In a war of slogans’ debate on Joynews current affairs program pm:EXPRESS on Monday, Yoofi Grant, Coordinator of NPP Manifesto Committee said the ‘People Matter, You Matter’ is the title for the NPP’s manifesto, and not its slogan as the NDC claims.
He gave the hint in a heated discussion with the NYEP’s Deputy Coordinator, Murtala Mohammed as they both took entrenched positions on ownership of the slogan.
Both parties are still laying claims to the “People Matter, You Matter” slogan.
While the NPP says it is the title of its manifesto, the NDC insists, it is a campaign slogan that the NPP has stolen.
Murtala Mohamed, also the NDC Parliamentary candidate for Nanton in the Upper West region said the party’s policies and activities have always been people centred hence the use of the slogan that connects with the masses.
Meanwhile, the NPP is set to launch its manifesto on August 25 2012. Yoofi Grant, giving hints from the party’s policy document said it focuses on economic modernization to create opportunities for the masses.
In an interview after the show, he said the NPP will make investments in community health nursing and build basic clinics to make healthcare accessible to every Ghanaian.
