General Secretary of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia has blamed the seeming power play in the party to the lack of defined roles for each executive.
He said most of the national executives have not gone through an orientation to know the nitty gritties of their job.
Asiedu Nketia's comments come after a deputy Communications Director; Koku Anyidoho questioned the decision by the National Organizer, Kofi Adams to hold a press conference in response to the opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) 'Won Gbo' demonstration in protest over the worsening power crisis.
Koku argued that it is the sole responsibility of the General Secretary or his deputies to call a press conference and that Kofi Adams cannot arrogate powers onto himself and act in clear breach of the party's code.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Friday, Asiedu Nketia also known as General Mosquito said he will not fault anyone for the confusion because most of the “national executives need orientation”.
He explained that per the party's structure, in the absence of the General Secretary his deputies or National Chairman take charge therefore Koku’s objection is in the right direction.
General Mosquito said he would have preferred the National Chairman, Kofi Portuphy had addressed the press conference instead of Kofi Adams or Fred Agbenyo.
“Monkeys play by sizes so the party Chairman should have addressed the press conference to counter the NPP’s protest to give our message some weight” he added.
This notwithstanding, the NDC scribe said the party will as a matter of urgency organize the orientation for the new executives to draw the boundaries for each position.
Asiedu Nketia called for a truce and urged all feuding parties to work together in the interest of the party
