Manchester United’s Park Ji-Sung opened the scoring six minutes into the game and Park Chu-Young of Monaco wrapped up matters with a last-minute penalty in Saitama.
South Korea, who now move on to a training camp in Austria, meet Greece, Argentina and Nigeria in group B at the June 11-July 11 tournament in South Africa. Japan play Cameroon, the Netherlands and Denmark in group E.
