A member of the communication team of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Felix Kwakye Ofosu, NDC Felix Ofosu says Dr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, has demonstrated he is a non-serious politician. He said the former presidential contender had lost his credibility as a credible leader in the governing NDC.His comments followed Dr Garbrah’s withdrawal from the NDC flagbearership race Thursday after he failed to meet the party’s requirements and deadline for submission of nomination forms. The former Education Minister under the Rawlings regime has been one of the ardent critics of the Mills government but his criticisms have mostly been treated with contempt by government officials who contend the criticisms are sour grapes.Dr Spio Grabrah is widely believed to be aggrieved that he has not been offered any ministerial appointment by the president.Speaking on Peace FM’s current affairs programme Kokrokoo Friday, Mr Ofosu minced no words when he stated that Spio had a huge stature in the party but had lost his political might due to his arrogance and arrant display of indiscretion.Alhaji Mohammed Naziru, an aide to Mr Spio-Garbrah had told journalists that his boss’ withdrawal from the race was necessitated by insurmountable technical challenges related to securing the necessary endorsements from constituency representatives. However, Mr Kwakye Ofosu maintained that Spio’s attitude was what led to his inability to garner endorsement from card bearing members of the party. He also insisted that Mr Spio-Garbrah had compromised his chances in the 2016 presidential elections.“Those whom the gods wish to destroy they first make mad," Felix quoted anonymous ancient proverb.Story by Dorcas Efe Mensah/myjoyonline.com/Ghana
