President Akufo-Addo is set to deliver the State of the Nation address to Parliament on Tuesday, February 27, 2024.
This annual address, as stipulated by Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution, mandates the President to convey a message on the State of the Nation at the commencement of each session and before the dissolution of Parliament.
Anticipated to outline the government's key policy objectives for the year, the address will also shed light on the strategies in place to tackle current economic conditions.
The announcement of this forthcoming address was made in Parliament on Tuesday by the Majority Leader, Osei Kyei-Mensah-Bonsu.
He stated, "Mr. Speaker, in accordance with Article 67 of the Constitution, H.E the President will deliver to the house a message on the State of the Nation on Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Honourable Members are entreated to avail themselves for the task ahead."
This presentation will mark President Akufo-Addo's penultimate address to Parliament, offering an opportunity for the leader to reflect on the achievements and challenges of the government, as well as to outline the trajectory for the nation's progress in the coming year.
