Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak suffered one of their heaviest defeats in recent times when struggling Wa All Stars thrashed them 3-0 in the Ghana Premier League on Sunday.
Mohammed Polo made wholesome changes to the midfield that drew against Aduana Stars in Obuasi by introducing Sampson Cudjoe and a couple of midfielders to the Hearts set-up but it backfired spectacularly.
Striker Selassi Adjei was also handed his first playing minutes under the Polo while Tetteh Luggard stepped in place of the sick Philemon McCarthy.
But All Stars, who lost against Heart of Lions at the same venue in their last home game, put in a strong performance to comprehensively beat the Phobians.
Dennis Adusei hit the opener for the home side with a clinical finishing from inside of the box.
Sixteen minutes before the interval, former Ghana U17 midfielder Paul Asare topped it up for the All Stars with a close range tab-in.
Hearts tried to come into the game after the break but they failed to march the All Stars midfield which had the brilliant Emmanuel Gyamfi.
A moment of madness between goalkeeper Luggard, Owusu Bempah and Stephen Tetteh gifted the third goal to Asare who raced to calmly kill the game for the home side and boost their relegation survival hopes.
