Documents in the possession of Adom News indicate that at least five officials of Sudan Telecoms (Sudatel), working as directors of Kasapa Telecom Limited (Expresso Ghana), have all resigned between March 2013 and May 2014. 

The five directors include the recent past Managing Director of Expresso Ghana, El Amir Ahmed El Amir Yousif, who vacated his post unceremoniously before former National Security Capo Col. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey took over.

The four others are Abdelbesit Hamza Alhassan, Ahmed Abbas, Ihab Osman and Omer Taha.

This was contained in a letter addressed to the Registrar of Companies at the Registrar Generals Department, dated December 5, 2014, signed by Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, in his capacity as Lawful Attorney and CEO of Kasapa Telecom Limited.

In the same letter, Larry Gbevlo-Lartey (Ghanaian Citizen), Tarig Hamza Abu Gabala Rahamtalla (British Citizen) and Tarig Hamza Zain El Abdein (American Citizen) have been named as the new directors of the company.

Information reaching Adom News indicates Tarig Hamza Abu Gabala Rahamrtalla is the Managing Director of Sudatel Dubai and Tarig Hamza Zain El Abdein is the CEO of Sudatel in Sudan.

The letter said the resignation of the five and subsequent appointment of the three formed part of a restructuring and updating of company records.

In June 2014, Col. Larry Gbevlo-Lartey was appointed by Certwell Limited as a Director of Kasapa Telecom Limited. This was just one month after his resignation from office as Head of National Security in May, 2014.

However, Adom News is reliably informed that his appointment was occasioned by a phone call by people he called “my friends in Sudan”, who asked him to protect their interest in Kasapa Telecom.

Sudatel recently announced to its shareholders that it concluded the sale of Expresso Ghana in the second quarter of 2014, but it did not mention who the new buyer was.

Meanwhile, the original founder and CEO of Celltell Limited, established in 1993, which later became Kasapa Telecom Limited in 2003, Prince Kofi Kludjeson has recently been in the media claiming ownership of the company.

He stated in an exclusive live interview with Adom News that he still owns the company and does not recognize the directorship of Col. Gbevlo-Lartey.

Subsequent to that, Adom News has laid hands on two separate registration certificates, one indicating the change of the name of company number 48,782 from Celltell Limited to Kasapa Telecom Limited. But the company number remained unchanged.
