The founder of non-denominational Christian inspired event dubbed Elevation Conference has urged Ghanaian youth to build stamina to stand in tough times.
Speaking at the 2nd edition of the event at the Holiday Inn hotel in Accra Rev. Evans Kyere-Mensah, charged the youth to appreciate discipline, commitment and consistency as values necessary to live a successful life.
The Conference was attended by over 300 young people from corporate Ghana as well as students from various tertiary institutions in Accra and Kumasi.
“Stamina is tested by adversity and prosperity; we need to rise from our problems and push against our failures. Turn your setbacks into setups for a comeback”, he said.

Rev. Kyere-Mensah, who is also the founder and senior pastor of Goodhope Chapel based in Kumasi, pointed out that in order to build stamina, it is important to accept the things we cannot change about ourselves but embrace who we are, where we come from, the colour of our skin, among others.
This, he said, are necessary “so we don’t live fake lives because when you’re not satisfied with what you can’t change, frustration sets in and we can lose our stamina as we push hard, without success, to change our identity”.
He also stated the need for young people aspiring for success to “adjust to obstacles that come their way as it is the surest way to build stamina for the long haul”.
Rev. Kyere-Mensah urged the audience not to give up in the face of obstacles no matter how bad they seem.
“Those who are able to adjust to obstacles, over time, build stamina and strength to become great leaders; every great leader has learnt to adjust and adapt to challenges, soared over them and stood tall in the midst of the storm,” he added.

According to him, the third way to build stamina is to stay patient and learn to connect with God.
“God needs us to have faith in Him and stay connected to Him because we can’t depend on ourselves to make it. God is the author and the finisher of our faith”, he added.
Participants at the event were inspired and encouraged by the conference and embraced the message.
A pastor who attended the conference said he has been energised with the Stamina to continue in winning souls for God at his base in Odumase.
“I've never been challenged and inspired as the sermon did. We pray for grace to have the stamina to see through what the Almighty God has prepared for us. We shall be victorious come what may with God on our side,” another participant, an I.T. specialist stated.
A sitting member of parliament said he wanted all the young people in his constituency to listen to the sermon to be encouraged not to give up.
The Elevation Conference is an initiative of the Evans Kyere Mensah ministries, which was birthed by Rev. Evans Kyere Mensah.
The ministry is aimed at harnessing and training young and corporate gifts and talents to advance the kingdom of God in their schools, offices, businesses and relationships.
