Teachers of the Ghana National College have suspended their sit down strike but are still wearing red-bands on campus. The teachers declared an indefinite sit-down strike to protest against the continued performance of certain administrative functions by the head master of the school who was suspended last month. The teachers say they will return to the classrooms on Monday. They told Joy News the decision was informed by the intervention of the authorities in Accra who assured them their concerns will be looked into. Spokesperson for the teachers, Wisdom Afedo, said the Metro Director of Education also assured them all school properties in the hands of the embattled head master will be brought to the college premises. He said the vehicles had already been brought to the school. Source: Joy News/Ghana
