The Member of Parliament (MP) for Tema Central, Kofi Brako has organized free medical screening for his constituents.
The annual exercise, held on Saturday May 17, 2014 at the Otoyos Park, Community 8, was to bring health care to the door step of people who cannot access care due to one reason or the other.
The MP, in collaboration with Tema Community 7-based Criss Pharmacy and Gold Coast Medical Foundation helped screen more than 800 residents from both within and outside the constituency to ascertain the state of their health and make appropriate recommendations.
Some health seekers traveled from as far afield as Dzorwulu, Ashaiman, Michel Camp, Golf City, Ada, and Sege– which are not under Tema Central – to partake in the screening exercise.

Speaking to Adom News, Chairman of Tema Central NPP, Charles Boateng, said this was just the latest effort by Mr. Kofi Brako to ensure his constituents enjoyed an improvement in their lifestyles while also working to ensure the right laws are passed.
Also speaking to Adom News, Chief Executive Officer of Criss Pharmacy, Francis Osei said his outfit partnered Mr. Kofi Brako to undertake the exercise in order to make healthcare affordable.
To show his commitment to providing affordable health care, all the drugs from Criss Pharmacy were sold at half price to participants who received prescriptions.
According to him, just a day used in attending to hundreds of residents was not enough and expected an extension to 3 days in subsequent ones to attend to about 1000 patients.
