The Tema Community One Police have confirmed that a young man who was crushed by a machine he was working with in the early hours of Friday, has died.
20-year old Daniel Avenorpe, an employee of Delta Agro Limited, a soap making company based in Tema was pronounced dead on arrival at the Police Hospital in Accra.
The man was said to have attempted to remove a foreign material from soap he was milling but the machine pulled him into the mixture and crushed him.
He lost his arm immediately while the machine appeared to have crushed him in several places.
Tema Community One Police Commander, Superintendent Kwaku Buah who had early on prayed that Daniel might be saved, told Adom News the police were in discussions with the management of the company to ascertain the cause of the unfortunate accident.
Meanwhile Production Manager of Delta Agro Limited, Fahed Sabra has told Adom News that the accident was as a result of the victim's failure to obey safety instructions in handling the mixture machine.
He stated that the company will reach the family of the victim to pay the necessary compensation and insurance due to them.
