As Ghana joins the world to celebrate Mothers Day, Queen mothers say the biggest gift Ghanaians can give mothers is peace before, during and after the December elections.
The day is set aside to honour mothers worldwide for their selfless and indispensable role in family and nation building.
A member of the Drobo Traditional Council in the Brong Ahafo Region Nana Yaa Ansah told Joy News the greatest gift mothers expect is peace ahead of the December elections.
“What we would wish for Mothers Day gift; what we want as a gift for the nation as mothers over here is peace. A gift of peace. Election is coming; it is just at the corner; It is not that far; what do we need? We expect you to be tolerant and accommodate people,” she said.
Meanwhile, Joy FM has lined up a number of programmes to commemorate the day.
Head of Marketing, Max Fugar told Joy News there will prayer session for all mothers at the forcourt of Joy FM.
Later on in the Day ten winners of the Super Mum Promotion will be sent to the Oak Plaza to have lunch with their children.
The winners are also entitled to other rewards including a weekend stay at the Ramada Beach resort and some Geisha Product.
