Ghanaian musician, E.L has been sighted at the convergence point in Accra for Day 2 of the #OccupyJulorBiHouse demonstration.

According to him, it is high time voices like his weighed in more on the challenges faced by citizens in the country.

"It’s up to us celebrities. It’s up to us the people. And let the powers that be, know that we are actually thinking and we have the power to make change happen," he said on Friday.

Speaking on JoyNews, the singer said yesterday’s episode of the protest was impromptu but “it is better late than never.”

The artiste has boots on the ground today at the 37 Lorry Station where protestors are expected to converge.

He lamented that Ghana's status ability to provide a prosperous life for all keeps deteriorating by the day.

"Whenever I come back to Ghana, I realise that things have actually deteriorated to a certain extent and it has been chipping away... for a very long time," he explained.

“I’m getting worried about it, for the generation to come, I’m getting worried about the children. You know my children and others that are going to come after this. It’s going to impact them greatly. This is the time to actually make that effort to make something change."

He says a rewiring of thinking is crucial if any substantive change is to be seen in Ghana.

Yesterday, the Police arrested about 50 protestors participating in the #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration.

Organisers of the planned picket of Jubilee House went ahead despite warnings from the police to stop the protest.

The demonstration aims to demand a range of reforms, including a reduction in the cost of living, an end to corruption, and improved governance.

The protestors are gathering once again for Day 2 amid heavy police presence.
