Tigo launches Big Six welcome package for new subscribers

Tigo has introduced a new offer called “Tigo Big Six” to give new customers the liberty to do more on social media while also enjoying bonus airtime for all purposes.

The Big Six is a 90-day welcome package for new customers and it offers free 100MB data upon activation of a new SIM on Tigo, whether a new sim or a ported number from another network.

The free 100MB data however lasts for seven days.

It also comes with unlimited access to music from Deezer for 15 days; 100 per cent bonus on all top-up using Tigo vouchers, 200 per cent bonus on all top-up using Tigo  Cash; 200 per cent bonus on all weekly and monthly internet packages for the 90 days, and free calls to the user's Tigo No. 1 for 30 days.

Communication on the new product clearly indicated that unlike bonus airtime on other networks, which limits the user to only on-net call, the bonus credit on Big Six can be used for all purposes, including on-net calls, calls to other networks, international calls, and for browsing the internet as well.

The product was developed by the Acquisition Manager of Tigo Ghana, Ama Daaku, and she told journalists the Big Six also give access to all social media platforms, unlike offers on other network, which limit customers to particular social media platforms.

“Beyond giving customers the freedom to pick and choose the social media channels they want, we are giving them bonuses on all talk time to keep them connected,” she added.

Ama Daaku said unused credit on Big Six could be rolled over at the end of the expiry period to enable the user enjoy more of the network.

Head of Mobile at Tigo Ghana, Tara Squire said Big Six was designed with Ghana's freedom from colonial rule in mind, so it was intended to give users ten freedom to enjoy mobile telephony service the way they want without an restriction.

"We trust that by the end of the first 90 days of your stay on our network we would have had a good idea of your life style then we can suggest which of our other products would best suit your life," he said.

Head of Marketing at Tigo, Jesse Agyepong urged Ghanaians to "drop that yam and switch to Tigo and experience real freedom in both the voice and data communication on the Tigo Big Six welcome package."

Tigo is the first Mobile Network Operator in Ghana, licensed in 1991 under the ownership Millicom International SA. It is currently the third largest telecom operator in the country commanding 13.62 per cent voice market share and 13.27 data market share.
