Mobile network operator, Tigo has partnered online retail store, Jumia to enable customers purchase its latest smartphones with free 1GB data plus 1-month unlimited music and six months double data for every top-up.
The partnership, the first of its kind among telecom firms is expected to make Tigo even more accessible to customers while boosting e-commerce activities in the country.
Announcing the collaboration, Head of Marketing for Tigo Ghana, Jesse Agyepong, said “as a digital lifestyle brand, we are committed to harnessing the endless opportunities of technology and we are excited that with the click of a button both customers of Tigo and Jumia will have their purchase delivered to their doorstep.”
The Managing Director for Jumia Ghana, Sam Chappatte also emphasised that the partnership was the beginning of a long-term relationship that would provide increased value and convenience to customers.
“Customers need not go through the hassle of travelling to Tigo shops to buy a phone, they can make their purchases in the comfort of their homes and offices from the Jumia website.”
2015 will see Tigo stabilize its network and improve on quality to enable customers enjoy a seamless connection. Customers can access the range of handsets from www.jumia.com.gh/tigo-shop.
