Senegal striker Demba Ba scored the second goal for Besiktas as they thrashed hosts Kasimpasa 1-5 in the Turkish Superlig on Saturday.
The goal, which gave Besiktas a 0-2 lead in the 38th minute, was the 29-year-old striker's 16th in 23 league appearances this season. It also snapped a mini barren spell for Ba who last scored on March 15 in any competition.
The win provisionally takes Besiktas to the top of the table, pending the outcomes of the weekend games involving title rivals Galatasaray and Fenerbahce.
Ba is the top scoring African in the Turkish top-flight so far this season after compatriot Moussa Sow and Morocco star Aatif Chahechouhe who both have 11 goals apiece. Brazilian Fernandao who plays for Bursaspor tops the chart with 17 goals followed by Ba.
