The Trades Union Congress, TUC has vowed to resist attempt by any employer to victimize Trade Union leaders at their various workplaces.
Speaking at the TUC’s delegates conference in Kumasi, Secretary General, Kofi Asamoah said they would go to any extent to protect the rights of the union leaders.
Mr. Asamoah made specific reference to the dismissal of the Merchant Bank’s Local Union Chairman, Smart Koranteng who has yet to be reinstated as directed by the Labor Commission.
“TUC wishes to serve notice to Merchant Bank and other employers of that nature of its readiness and determination to protect trade union leaders whose only crime is to act as legitimate leaders of the workers front. We shall resist any attempt to justify and give a venial legality to what is palpably illegal and know under the law as unfair labour practice” he said.
