An Accra Circuit Court has granted two people GH¢4,000 bail each with a surety for allegedly defrauding a businessman in the sum of GH¢3,500 under the pretext of securing an Italian Visa for him. They are Sulley Jibirim 37, a businessman, and Shaibu Adams 38, a fridge mechanic. They pleaded not guilty to the charges. Prosecuting, Deputy Superintendent of Police Kofi Blagodzi told the court presided over by Mr Eric Kyei-Baffour that on February 20, 2008 at Abeka Lapaz in Accra suburb, the accused persons collected GH¢3,500 and a Ghanaian passport from Mr Isaac Owusu-Wiafe, a businessman, to secure Italian Visa for him. He said after collecting the money, they failed to secure the visa and efforts to collect his money and the passport failed and a report was made to the police. Source: GNA
