A Level 200 medical student at the University of Cape Coast who was allegedly raped last Saturday at the medical school hostel has identified the rapist.
Central Regional Domestic Violence Victims Unit DOVVSU tells Joy News the victim and a fellow student reported the incident to them.
Regional coordinator DSP George Appiah Sekyi says the lady mentioned the name of a man she says raped her during an interaction.
He said the DOVVSU has a “clue and we are working on it”, but for the “sake of expediency”, he would not disclose his identity.
The victim has been treated and discharged from the Central Regional Hospital.
Meanwhile academic work was brought to a halt today by angry colleague students in protest over what they say is the state of insecurity.
They have questioned the university authorities for looking on while students are attacked.
