The Managing Director of Unilever Ghana Limited, David Mureithi has resigned.
His resignation is expected to take effect from May 1. He will be the second high profile corporate chief executive to have quit his job lately after Benjamin Dabrah of Barclays Bank Ghana.
Mr. Mureithi joined Unilever Ghana in October 2010 and has contributed to the sterling performance of the company which has also influenced its stock price positively.
He took over from Charles Cofie. Prior to joining Unilever Ghana, Mr. Mureithi an electrical engineer worked in the Ivory Coast and Kenya.
He holds a Masters degree in Marketing from the Leicester University in the UK.
Meanwhile, Ghana Commercial Bank has appointed its Chief Financial Officer, John Awuah onto its board.
His appointment takes effect from March 27. Mr. Awuah was a former Financial Controller of Barclays Bank Ghana and Head of Finance and Corporate Strategy at UBA Ghana.
