University of Ghana organized a Special Congregation on March 23, 2016, for the conferment of Honorary Degrees for eligible candidates, who through their selfless ambitions and innovation, have brought developments to the university and the nation.
The occasion was chaired by Mr. Kofi Annan, Chancellor of the University, backed by Chairman and Vice-Chancellor of the University and other members of the committee.
Distinguished members of society such as former President John Agyekum Kufour among others were present at the event.
Awards were presented to fourteen candidates based on specific categories or sectors in society that they as individuals helped to develop.
Among the Candidates was Mr. Kwaku Mensa-Bonsu, a distinguished Alumnus, who served as a very effective President of the Alumni Council for many years.
He provided his professional services to the school of Communication Studies of the University on a pro bono basis for many years. He continues to serve the advertising and marketing industry at the highest level.

Unfortunately, Dr. Anarfi Asamoa-Baah, who was part of the candidates was not able to make it to the event, his award will therefore be conferred upon him during another occasion.
