Management of the University of Ghana (UG) has reversed its initial decision to increase facility user fees for the 2020/2021 academic year.
After due consideration, the management of the University in a statement said "the 2019-2020 fees will therefore be applied for the 2020-2021 academic year."
This comes after agitations from the student body following an earlier decision by management to increase fees by 12%.

Students who were unhappy with the decision explained that the Covid-19 pandemic has brought about economic hardships.
The new fees, however, was not also approved by government.
In a latest release, management of the university said “after due consideration", it has decided to reverse the fees published for the 2020-2021 academic year.
Going from this release, students will continue to pay the same amount as they did in the previous academic year for the 2020/2021 academic year.
The revised fees for the 2020-2021 academic year will, therefore, be published at the UG website.”
