Counsel for the embattled president of the Ghana Football Association says his client has been granted bail after hours of interrogation over allegations of bribery and influence peddling.
Thaddeus Sory confirmed it to Joy News' Parker Wilson. He will not, however, state what caution or charges have been slapped on him, at least not yet.
The police are also tightlipped on the matter which has sent shock waves through Ghana's Football Association.
The FA president is accused of using the names of the president, Nana Akufo-Addo and vice president, Dr Bawumia to solicit monies from prospective investors.
In an undercover investigation whose content is yet to be made public, Mr Nyantakyi is alleged to have demanded monies from these investors [undercover journalists] to be given to the two most powerful men to soften the ground for a potential business transaction.
The content of the video, excerpts of which was shown to the president was not too pleasant to him. He then reported the incident to the police CID who have since begun investigations.
Mr Nyantakyi had to cut short his official trip and return to the country to answer for potential charges of fraud.
He was subjected to hours of interrogation at the police CID after he was whisked away from the airport minutes after he touched down from a Moroccan flight in the morning.
He was interrogated in the presence of his lawyer Thaddeus Sory.
