A founding member of the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Nyaho Nyaho-Tamakloe has categorically denied authoring a statement which sought to run down the possible choice of MP for Okere, Dan Botwe, as the campaign manager of Nana Akufo-Addo in the 2016 elections.
Outspoken Nyaho-Tamakloe has since described the statement as “mischievous and malicious” and called on all to treat it with the “contempt it deserves”.
“I categorically deny making any recommendation to Nana Akufo-Addo regarding the choice of campaign manager,” he told Samson Lardy Anyenini host of Joy FM news analysis programme Newsfile on Saturday.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said he is convinced the letter emanated from one of the “two or three factions” within the New Patriotic Party.
“And I can tell you that I am 100 percent sure it is coming from our party,” he stressed, pointing out that he was “very upset” by attempts by his own party to draw him into malicious politics.
“I have never run away from my own comments”, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe said to drum home his assertion that the statement sent to the media did not come from him.
Explaining further, he stated emphatically that he has “never communicated to the media using email” neither does he post articles on social media.
The NPP stalwart said the statement attributed to him has many “notorious facts”. He further argued that the statement purported to have been written by him had his name wrongly spelt. His name is hyphenated: Nyaho-Tamakloe.
The statement was using a Hotmail account but he said he also does not use Hotmail.
Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe has vowed to “go deep down” to fish out whoever wrote that statement if the party fails to look for the person behind it.
“What will happen to him, he will never forget in his life,” he warned his impersonator.
He also placed on record that he has not sat down to have any political discourse with Nana Akufo-Addo and Dan Botwe for two and five years respectively.
Sounding very furious, Dr. Nyaho-Tamakloe maintained that everything attributed to him in the statement “is totally false.”
