One of the most blatant red card offences of the weekend in Europe came in the Belgium Jupiler League match between KV Mechelen and Waasland-Beveren.
Waasland-Beveren's left-back David Addy was shown a straight red card just after the half hour when the defender crazily headbutted an opponent in front of the referee.
There was no excuse for Ghanaian defender’s assault, and he made matters worse for himself when he tried to attack his victim after he was given his marching orders.
KV Mechelen condemned the visitors to third third straight defeat with a 2-0 result, while Waasland-Beveren also ended the match a man down too.
