The 46th anniversary of Ghana's June 4 Uprising was solemnly commemorated today in Agomanya, Eastern Region, with a gathering of National Democratic Congress (NDC) stalwarts, supporters and the family of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.
Despite intermittent drizzles, the event proceeded in apparent fervent dedication to the principles of probity, accountability and social justice that underpinned the 1979 revolution.
NDC Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketia led the ceremony, joined by Rawlings' children, including Kimathi Rawlings and Dr. Zanetor Agyeman-Rawlings. Together, they ignited the perpetual flame, which symbolizes the spirit of the uprising.
