The wait is finally over for Vincent Atingah and he is elated his impressive performances in this season's Ghana Premier League have been rewarded with a call-up to the Black Stars ‘’’B’’
Atingah has been consistent with his display’s for Hearts of Oak, providing a solid shield at the back and also being amongst the scorers(top scoring defender with five goals) when it matters most.
He is the only player to have featured in 24 consecutive league games this season.
But Atingah has been conspicuously missing anytime the squad is named.
However, after assistant coach Maxwell Konadu expressed discontent over the ‘’preventable goals’’ conceded by the team in 2-2 stalemate against Burkina Faso in the first leg of CHAN 2018 qualifier, Atingah has been invited by head coach Kwesi Appiah.
And he has already begun training with the side as they prepare for the return leg at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium on Sunday.
"Everything at camp is good, I very am happy to be part of the team and this is the right time for my call up," says the 21-year-old defender.
"This my first and hope for better days ahead, coach will decide whether can be part of the final 18 and to start in the game."
Asante Kotoko's Ahmed Adams has also been called up to the squad.
