Vivo Energy Ghana, the company that distributes and markets Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, has held a conference and awards ceremony for its valuable Retailers in the country.
The objective of the conference and awards ceremony was to review Retailers performance for the year 2013 and share the business focus for the year 2014 as well as recognizing hardworking Retailers for the year 2013.
Speaking on the theme, "Raising the game together to create Africa’s most respected energy business…The new reality", the Retail Manager of Vivo Energy Ghana, Mr. Kwame Ackah said the number of accredited Oil Marketing Companies in good standing for business has increased from 51 in 2013 to 59 for 2014 and this calls for a new era where Retailers must uphold high standards in the discharge of their duties and adopt to improved strategic plans of doing business to maximize profit.
Mr. Ackah further said Vivo Energy aims to be the most respected energy business in Africa urged Retailers to discharge their duties in a manner that is in consonant with the high safety and environmental standards of Vivo Energy to help achieve its vision. He also used the opportunity to commend the company’s Road Transport Contractors for doing averagely 6,000,000 kilometres a year for the last five years without a single road accident record and urged them to continue to do their best in the industry.
The Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana Mr. Fred Osoro in his address said the company is focused on business growth through product quality, excellent customer service, retail network and storage capacity expansion and supply reliability and that Vivo Energy will play it part in providing the energy needed for Africa’s successful growth.
Mr. Osoro further lauded the initiative by the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) with the introduction of the Petroleum Product Marking Scheme (PPMS) to combat the adulteration of fuel at loading depots and measuring the concentration during its journey to petrol pump to ensure that the level remains unchanged.
“This initiative will not only bring sanity into the petroleum business but will ensure that our customers get value for their money and that Shell Fuel and Lubricants are of the highest quality due to Shell’s world-class and advanced research and technology” says Mr. Osoro.

Mr. Eric Asante, the Retailer for Salaga, Savelugu and Kintampo Shell Service Stations was crowned the Country Retailer of the Year 2013, Edward Kweku Botwe winning the Global Retailer, and Justice Nana Gyasi Mbroh winning the 2013Best Territory Manager for the 4th consecutive time.
