The Pleasant Gardens in Dzorwulu witnessed a rare intersection of politics and pop culture last night as Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, MP for Ofoase-Ayirebi, traded his legislative duties for the turntables at Joy FM’s 90’s Jam.
The event, which was already pulsing with the energy of a sold-out crowd, reached a fever pitch when renowned presenter Lexis Bill introduced the former broadcaster-turned-politician as a surprise guest DJ.
Mr Oppong Nkrumah was the host of the Joy FM Super Morning Show (SMS) before his transition into politics.
In a seamless display of skill that reminded patrons of his media roots, Oppong Nkrumah delivered, proving that his groove remains as sharp as his political acumen.

The crowd went gaga with loud noise in a brief moment after Oppong Nkrumah dropped Kwabena Kwabena's Aso track.
The 2026 edition of the 90’s Jam, a flagship brand of The Multimedia Group, has been hailed as the most successful in the event's history.
By 9:00 pm, the venue was packed to capacity, with late-arriving hordes of 90s music lovers finding the car park full and the exclusive cabanas completely sold out.

While Oppong Nkrumah was the X-factor of the night, he was supported by Joy FM’s powerhouse lineup of veteran entertainers, including DJ Black and Nii Ayi Tagoe, who ensured the transitions remained flawless throughout the night.
The atmosphere was further elevated by the retro fashion themes.
Some patrons were seen in bucket hats, baggy jeans, and bandanas, recreating the iconic streetwear aesthetic of the 90s.
