Water crisis looms in the Brong Ahafo regional town of Wenchi following the disconnection of power to the offices of the Wenchi Water Board. The disconnection follows the failure of the Board to settle outstanding electricity bills amounting to some two million Ghana Cedis. The bill is said to have been outstanding for the past five years. The Board supervises the provision of water to the Wenchi municipality and surrounding communities thus the disconnection has affected pumping of water for onward distribution in the municipality.Joy News Television can confirm there are ongoing engagements between officials of the Board and the Municipal Chief Executive for Wenchi, Nana Yaw Osei-Agyei for early settlement of the bill. Many parts of the municipality might have to cope without water until the negotiations are concluded.
