The trial of former Chief Executive of the defunct Ghana@50 Secretariat Dr. Charles Wereko-Brobbey and former Chief of staff Kwadwo Mpiani resumes Wednesday.
The two are standing trial on four counts of wilfully causing financial loss to the state to the tune of several thousands of Ghana cedis for expenditure during the nations’ 50th anniversary celebrations.
State prosecutors accuse the two of deliberately over-spending in excess of what was approved by Parliament as well as contracting loans without approval from parliament.
The two have since been granted self recognizance bail of 35 million Ghana cedis each.
