Benita Okity Duah is one of the 28 females who got the nod in the just ended elections to contest ideas with the men in parliament from next year.
She won the Ledzokuku seat in the Greater Accra Region, after wrestling with former Member of Parliament (MP) and Deputy Health Minister, Gladys Norley Ashitey.
Mrs. Okity-Duah, a former Miss Ghana (1997) and now a fashion designer told Joy News though her journey to the high office has been difficult, especially with initial rejection by some indigenes who wanted their own, she will not discriminate in developing the area.
She told Joy News’ Hannah Odame that having been born and bread in the constituency, she had contributed a lot to its development.
She was sure of entering Parliament with “new ideas” and promised to “make sure that every bill that comes in [Parliament] that has to do with women...is passed.”
