The Minister for Sports and Recreation, Kofi Adams, has called on Ghanaians to unite behind the national team during this decisive phase of the World Cup 2026 qualifying campaign.
In a statement released on Monday, the MP for Buem Constituency expressed confidence in the team’s resilience and determination ahead of matchdays 9 and 10 of the qualifiers.
“Our Black Stars have shown incredible determination and skill throughout this campaign,” he said.
“I am optimistic about their ability to secure qualification and bring glory to Ghana. With your support through prayers, cheers, and positive thoughts, we can lift their spirits and motivate them to succeed.”
Ghana currently sit in a strong position with 19 points, three above second place Madagascar giving them a clear advantage heading into the final group fixtures.
The decisive clash between Madagascar and Comoros is expected to shape the qualification picture, with both teams vying for the remaining top spot and the chance to challenge Ghana.
If Madagascar defeat Comoros, the latter will be eliminated from contention, leaving Ghana needing just a draw against the Central African Republic (CAR) to progress.
If Comoros prevail, Ghana must get victory against CAR to guarantee qualification.
The Sports Minister urged the nation to remain united and steadfast in their support.
“Our journey to the tournament is within reach,” the MP for Buem Constituency affirmed.
“With faith, collective effort, and the relentless spirit of our Black Stars, I believe they will rise to the occasion and bring honour to Ghana.”
He encouraged fans to continue backing the team through prayers and unwavering belief as the countdown to the final qualifiers draws near.
“Go Black Stars! Ghana is behind you all the way,” he added.
